The Swift Current Fire Department has now determined that the cause of the fire at West End Grocery was accidental related to mechanical and electrical systems in the building, however, were unable to determine the exact cause. The building will be demolished within the next seven days. The Investigation was led by the Swift Current Fire Department with the assistance of the insurance company, City Light and Power, SaskPower Electrical Inspection Branch and the RCMP.

The long standing business at 6th Avenue North West went up in flames after midnight on Wednesday. Crews were on scene throughout the day watering hot spots in the debris. No injuries were sustained in the fire.
