Skinner Signs Entry Level Deal With the Oilers
The Swift Current Broncos announced on Monday afternoon that the Edmonton Oilers have signed Broncos goalie, Stuart Skinner to a three-year entry-level contract. Skinner joined the Broncos on January 9th as part of a blockbuster trade with the Lethbridge Hurricanes prior to the 2018 WHL Trade Deadline and was productive. In 25 regular season games, Skinner posted an impressive 16-6-1-1 record to go along with a 2.68 goals against average and a .914 save percentage with two shutouts. The 19-year-old product of Edmonton, AB was named the Vaughn WHL Goaltender of the Week on six occasions this season and was also awarded as the Vaughn WHL Goaltender of the Month for April.
Skinner was solid during the Broncos playoff run as he helped lead Swift Current to its first WHL League Championship title since 1993.
