Shaunavon RCMP Investigate Aggressive Dog Complaints
Shaunavon RCMP have investigated three aggressive dog complaints over the past 10 days. To of the events were near Veterans Park in Shaunavon, one involving a person being bit by an aggressive dog. Charges are pending in one of these complaints. During the evening of June 30, a Shaunavon parent with three children were out for a walk in the area of 6th Avenue East and 1st Street East in Shaunavon. The family pet, a very small dog, was in tow on leash when a very large dog ran out to the street and attacked the small dog. As a result the small dog had to be euthanized. The investigation is on-going including consultation with the Town of Shaunavon to review existing dog bylaws.
RCMP remind the public that it is your responsibility to ensure your pets are properly secured within your yard and leashed when off your property.
