Saskatchewan Nurses Vote in Favour of New Two Year Contract
The Saskatchewan Union of Nurses and its' membership of 9000 have voted in favour of a new Two year contract with SAHO. The collective agreement will be in effect from April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2014 and includes a 2 percent all in one payment in lieu of a wage increase in the first year, followed by a 2 percent wage increase in the second year. Meanwhile, nurse practitioners will see a $6.00 per/hr premium from the previous collective agreement added to their wage.
According to the latest data form SUN: Entry-level Registered Nurses make $34.25 per/hr ($66,746.40 annually). At the top end of the pay scale, SUN members receive $44.46 per/hr ($86,643.65 annually). The new agreement will now see Nurse Practitioners earnings range from $46.70 per/hr ($91,008.96 annually) to $55.85 per/hr($108,840 annually).
