Monday is National Clean Your Hands Day and the Cypress Health Region is reminding you that Frequent and proper hand hygiene is one of the easiest and best approaches to reduce

the spread of diseases. According to statistics from the Safer Healthcare Now! organization, approximately 220,000 people are afflicted with healthcare associated infections in Canada every year. The majority of these situations could have been avoided with proper hand hygiene by staff members, patients, visitors and the general public.

Members of the Public Health Inspection team will be hosting information booths on Monday at 10:00am at the Cypress Regional Hospital and the Herbert Integrated Health Facility. Presentations on hand hygiene will also occur at several schools within the

region.
