Mankota Weapons Case Back Before the Judge

The case involving a father and son out of Mankota charged with 21 offences including possession of prohibited and restricted firearms, careless storage of firearms and making false statements will be brought up in Swift Current Provincial Court today. 54 year old James Alfred Frampton and 18 year old Rocky James Frampton have waved the option for a preliminary hearing and have elected to be tried in the court of Queen’s Bench in front of a Judge and Jury; a trial date is expected to be set today. The Ponteix RCMP originally laid the charges against the Framptons on May 6th of 2008.

Over sixty weapons and ammunition were seized from the Frampton’s farm in the Mankota area last May. Approximately eleven of the seized weapons are prohibited and restricted in nature.
