19 communities across Southwest Saskatchewan are receiving funding through the Community Futures Works initiative. The program is designed to promote community spirit and cooperation for economic development and provides a unique opportunity for communities to access funding to assist with a community beautification project and/or project assistance with a designated community project. Community Futures Southwest will be allocating up to $2000.00 to each of the nineteen communities as well as two days of Board and Staff labour to assist with each community project.

The 2012 recipients include: Simmie, Piapot, Hazlet, Herbert, Shaunavon, RM of White Valley, Sask. Landing, Val Marie, Stewart Valley, Cadillac, Prelate, Consul, Lancer, Swift Current, Maple Creek, Web, Hodgeville, Shamrock and Climax.
